South Florida
South Florida is a Colony of Its Own
Spanish is just as spoken as English. People are dressed to out-fabulous the next person. Flamboyant, butt-dragging cars are the GDP equivalent of a small nation and are aplenty. It's a unique place for sure which also lends itself to good photo spots. And as a digital out-of-home ad recently asserted to me, it has the most Art-Deco architecture anywhere.
Everglades National Park
One of the largest national parks in the US, the Everglades is a lanscape set apart from others you might find elsewhere in the country. Gators are there, sure, and you can see them from a fanboat. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Try camping in the Flamingo campground at the southern end if you're there. Bring that bug spray!
Matheson Hammock Park & Marina
