"It's all been done (Ooh-ooh-ooh)" -Barenaked Ladies
It's hard to do something new in Paris that hasn't done before. The Eiffel Tower is the most photographed thing on the planet, probably, according to me. It's a tall drink of water, I tell ya! So is that city overall. Montmartre is a helluva neighborhood to walk around. The cafés are photogenic. The ponts over the Seine have been photographed a billion times each day. So with all of that behind us, I've tried to do something that's old in a new, zippy way. Did I succeed? Eh, maybe.
Walking around the Père-Lachaise cemetary is more than just seeing a bunch (the most bunch?) of famous people's graves. The necropolis has a ton of mausoleums with character, a lot covered with moss, crypts encroaching on each other's space. And Jim Morrison, Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Bizet, Proust, Edit Piaf are all there- if you like that kind of stuff. I do, for some reason. Nonetheless, it's a cool place to walk around and I usually find myself wandering through it when I'm in Paris.
